Carbon footprint of luminaires in the application (e-learning)

19.12.2022 | Light knowlege

Environmental pollution has become a significant problem of our civilisation. The sustainable protection of the environment is one of the great challenges of the 21st century, which the industrialised countries must face with particular responsibility. The focus here is on actions and measures to prevent current and future hazards to the environment. The use of contemporary and conscientiously planned lighting installations can make a significant contribution to this.

Within this context, the carbon footprint of luminaires in their applications should also be considered. In addition to energy consumption during the operation of a product, its carbon footprint also includes the CO2 emissions required for providing the product. The entire life cycle of the product is therefore taken into account in determining the CO2 equivalent (CO2e).

This course thus provides you with comprehensive information on the assessment of environmental sustainability.
